Codemakers offers fun and innovative computer programming courses to middle and high school students in the Boston area. Our courses are taught by highly enthusiastic computer science graduate students and college majors. Our typical student-teacher ratio is 4:1.
Computer programming teaches logic, discipline, abstract thinking, and problem solving. We offer in-depth workshops in introductory, intermediate, and advanced Python and hands-on training through programmable robots, sensors, and theme-oriented games and challenges.
Our workshops are unique in that students must code in order to make anything happen - no copying and pasting, no dragging and dropping. Codemaker students begin writing (and fixing) Python from Day One.
Upon completion of advanced level python coursework, students have the option of taking a Codemakers certification exam that demonstrates proficiency in Python. Eight of the top 10 computer science departments in the U.S. (including MIT) now use Python rather than Java or C++ to teach computer programming. This Python certification is not an accreditation, but may be useful for college applications, summer internships, part-time jobs, and future professional work.
